Slinfold Concert Band has had a really busy December! Despite the Covid restrictions, we have still managed to rehearse twice a week in various formats - by Zoom or by strictly limited numbers meeting for Covid-secure rehearsals and the rest joining an internet livestream from home.
Unfortunately we were unable to take part in our normal Christmas engagements BUT we did record some music that was used at St Peter's Church in Slinfold for a special service of Christmas Music and Poems in place of the Lessons and Carols service at which we usually play.
We know our supporters have been really disappointed that there are no Christmas Concerts this year so we decided to do something very special! We booked The Drill Hall in Horsham - the only venue nearby that is big enough for the whole Band to fit in with social distancing - and we performed an entire concert via YouTube livestream to an audience at home. It was a bit weird having no audience in the concert hall but our supporters were delighted to be able to see the Band performing at last and it was wonderful to bring some Christmas cheer to folk who were stuck at home.
